Tuesday 30 October - Greens back to winning ways

Hendon returned to winning ways with an excellent 2-1 victory over fellow high flyers Staines Town. In a hard-fought game against a side who will undoubtedly be challenging at the top of the table come the end of the season, Hendon took the lead in the 24th minute when Marc Leach scored direct from a free-kick. Staines pulled a goal back in the 69th minute courtesy of Howard Newton, but as has so often happened this season, the Greens refused to give up and were rewarded with six minutes to go when Brian Haule stabbed the ball home from ten yards from a Wayne O'Sullivan corner.

Sunday 21 October - No FA Trophy run this season

Hendon's interest in the FA Trophy lasted just one game this season as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon yesterday afternoon. Suspensions and late arrivals meant a much changed line up was fielded and despite Belal Aiteouakrim putting the Greens a goal ahead in the 16th minute, goals from Jason Goodliffe and Mark De Bolla in the 31st and 42nd minutes respectively turned out to be enough to win what was a poor match.

Thursday 18 October - Wimbledon replay date

Should we draw our game against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday afternoon, the replay will take place on Wednesday evening, rather than the normal Tuesday evening. This is so that the club have an extra 24 hours to ensure all the arrangements are in place to ensure the game goes ahead smoothly. If there is a definite result, we will play Boreham Wood as planned in the league cup on Tuesday evening, unless of course Boreham Wood draw in the FA Trophy against Chelmsford.

Thursday 18 October - No Livescores on Saturday

Unfortunately we are unable to operate the livescores service on Saturday afternoon for our FA Trophy tie at AFC Wimbledon, due to the fact that the two people able to operate it are both unable to attend the game. Also, the normal website update will be later than normal but will be online by Sunday morning. As an alternative to keeping up to date, AFC Wimbledon are hoping to operate their Radio WDon service which can be found on the link below. However, they have been having some technical problems, so it may not be operating.

Wednesday 17 October - Under 18s into quarter finals

The Under 18s have progressed into the quarter-finals of the Middlesex County Youth Cup following their 5-3 win at Hampton & Richmond Borough this evening. The reward for the victory is a home tie against North Greenford United or Hillingdon Borough during the week commencing 12th November.

Wednesday 17 October - Livescores problems

As those supporters who were following Monday nights game either online or via text message will know, there were some problems with the livescores service - resulting in the second Chelmsford goal being recorded eight times! The reason for this doesn't actually lie with livescores, but with the company that forwards the messages to the livescores system. For some reason it did it more than once. The provider of the livescores services is taking the issue up with them at the moment.

There have also recently been issues with messages being delayed. In some cases this is purely because we occasionally forget to send the message and send it late. However, sometimes the delay is simply down to mobile technology. Sometimes due to network congestion, messages will get delayed. This is totally out of the hands of the provider of livescores and there is nothing they can do about it.

Tuesday 16 October - Under 18 county cup tomorrow

We have entered the U18 Middx County Cup, and play in the first round tomorrow evening at Hampton & Richmond Borough. It is expected that Iavor Guentchev will be part of the squad. Tuesday 16 October - Sam's back, plus two more join

As supporters will be aware, there have been two new faces and one returnee in recent games. Joining us after his release by Brentford is young Bulgarian striker Ivailo Dimitrov, who was previously with us as a youth-team player scoring 10 goals in one game during the 2001-02 season whilst with the under 13s. Another striker coming on board is Gondzia Arkudiusz who originates from Poland, whilst the returnee is young defender Sam Page, who joins on a months loan from MK Dons having made 6 appearances for us last season, scoring one goal.

Monday 15 October - Stylish Clarets take over at the top

Hendon's six week reign at the top of the table came to a disappointing end as they were beaten 5-1 by a stylish Chelmsford City side. Goals from Bertie Brayley and Ricky Holmes put the Clarets 2-0 ahead before Brian Haule pulled a goal back shortly before the break. Goals early in the second half from Lee Protheroe and Brayley put the game out of reach, with the returning Sam Page unfortunately seeing the ball rebound off him into the net for the final goal.

Saturday 13 October - Disappointing Hendon nick a point

Hendon put in probably their worst performance of the season against Harlow Town this afternoon, and needed an 88th minute equaliser from Daniel Dyer to pick up a point that was barely deserved. Harlow had earlier taken the lead just before half-time when Clark Akers fired home a superb free-kick into the top corner of the goal, whilst Dyer's goal was equally impressive as he fired home a fierce drive from 30 yards.

Wednesday 10 October - Scorer correction

It was confirmed today that the scorer of our third goal at Ashford Town (Middlesex) yesterday evening was Davis Haule rather than his younger brother Brian as previously reported.

Tuesday 09 October - Goal feast at Short Lane

Hendon remain in top spot despite dropping two points this evening in a thrilling encounter at Ashford Town (Middlesex) that ended 4-4. The Greens took an early lead through Belal Aiteouakrim but Ashford equalised almost immediately. Dean Green restored the lead in the 22nd minute, but two quick goals ensured that Ashford went into the break leading 3-2. Shortly before the break Richard Wilmot saved a penalty from Paul Johnson. Brian Haule equalised for Hendon early in the second half, and then Aiteouakrim made it 4-3 in the 73rd minute. However, the hosts had the last laugh as they scored a last minute equaliser.

Saturday 06 October - Greens see off the Robins

Hendon continued their excellent league form with a 2-0 victory over Carshalton Athletic in a game that could best be described as niggly. The Greens took the lead through James Parker shortly before half-time, whilst Brian Haule made the game safe with two minutes left in normal time.

Tuesday 02 October - FA Cup run ends

Hendon's run in this season's FA Cup came to an end tonight as they lost 2-1 to AFC Hornchurch. The Greens had the better of the first half and took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Craig Vargas fired home following a Wayne O'Sullivan free-kick. The Urchins took control in the second half and deservedly equalised through Harry Elmes in the 72nd minute and the winner came five minutes from time courtesy of a strike from Simon Parker.

Tuesday 02 October - Manager of the month

The club are delighted to announce that Gary McCann has been named the Errera Premier Division Manager of the Month for August & September 2007 following our superb start to the season. The club would like to congratulate Gary on his deserved award, and know that Gary will want to thank Freddie, Bontcho and all the players, without whom we wouldn't be top of the table.

Three of our youth teams were in action over the weekend, but the only team to win were the under 16's who beat AFC Wembley 4-0 in the league cup, Yomi Smith scoring a hat-trick. The under 21's lost 3-2 to Hilltop in an entertaining game, Glenn Garner and Simon Connaughton on target, whilst the under 14s lost 5-4 to Hayes Gate, Luke Azumah and Kazim Eiwazali both scoring a brace of goals.
