Monday 30 October - Greens try for Wednesday

Today's rescheduled FA Cup tie has postponed again due to the storms over the weekend depositing further rain on the pitch at the LOOT Stadium. Dagenham and Hendon have again rescheduled the match, this time for Wednesday, in the hope that the weather will be good enough for the pitch to be playable.

Saturday 28 October - Two Dons listed

Marvyn Watson and Andy Iga have both been transfer listed this week. The decision, made around 10 days ago, was made to allow the two players to gain a first team place elsewhere. Iga is contending with on-loan Richard Wilmot for his starting position until McCann is fit again, whilst Marvyn Watson is currently competing with around 6 other players for a place on the field.

Saturday 28 October - Hendon back in the hat

Hendon have found themselves in the draw for the FA Cup's first round for the fifth season running, but this time the position is somewhat false. Today's postponment has in fact left both Hendon and Dagenham & Redbridge waiting to find out if they will meet Hayes at home. Both clubs are hoping that the question will be answered on Monday night when the two teams will attempt to meet again.

Saturday 28 October - Pitch inspection

There will be a pitch inspection at 12:00 today at the LOOT Stadium prior to today's game against Dagenham & Redbridge. Make sure you check before travelling today - details will be posted up as soon as the results of the inspection are known.

Friday 27 October - Further cup news

The Draw for the First Round of the FA Cup will take place live on Sky Sports 1 at 5.30pm on Saturday evening. All supporters are welcome to watch the draw in the bar following the game. Should the tie go to a replay, it will take place on Tuesday, 31st October at 7.45pm at Dagenham & Redbridge FC. If there are any plans for a pitch inspection, details will be posted to the website either on the news page or on the messageboard. If you are unsure, please phone the club before travelling on 020 8201 9494. Please help us tomorrow by arriving at the ground early to avoid congestion at the turnstiles before kick off.

Wednesday 25 October - Hendon win with plenty in reserve

Hendon fielded a reserve side, containing eight debutants, at Harlow in the first round of the Full Members Cup tonight and came away with an excellent 2-0 victory. The two goalscorers were Ike Obiji, one of the debuants, and Marvyn Watson, along with Bontcho Guentchev the only first team regulars fielded at Hammarskjold Road. Hendon will now travel to Heybridge, who beat Billericay 2-1 last night, in the next round on a date to be arranged.

Saturday 21 October - Farnborough game postponed

Today's match against Farnborough was postponed at 11.45 this morning following the heavy overnight rain. Although the pitch looks in very good condition, the ground is very soft and the referee felt that the game should be called off. There has been no date set yet for the rematch.

Saturday 21 October - Full Members Cup draw

Should we beat Harlow Town in the Full Members Cup on Wednesday, we have been drawn away to the winners of the tie between Heybridge Swifts and Billericay Town in the 2nd Round.

Friday 20 October - Harlow Town update & fixture changes

Frank Murphy has confirmed that the Full Members Cup tie at Harlow on Wednesday will be a squad game, basically involving those first teamers who haven't been playing regularly along with with some of the reserves. Frank feels that with the Dagenham game following this one that it is a good chance to have a look at some of the youngsters who have been performing well for the reserves. So, if you go along to Harlow, do not expect to the a full strength side playing. However, it is also a good chance for the supporters to see the youth that is the clubs future. Meanwhile the fixture against Hampton & Richmond Borough has been rearranged for Tuesday, November 28th with a 7.45 kick off.

Tuesday 17 October - Frank Murphy on the FA Cup draw

Manager Frank Murphy has spoken since the FA Cup Draw was made saying, "You can't get any harder than that. We aren't going to be afraid of them. They have brought a few players in who have league experience and they have adjusted well to the Conference. It will be a good test to see how far we have to go."

Monday 16 October - Hendon face Daggers

In the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, we will be playing at home against Dagenham & Redbridge. The Daggers, who are flying high in the Conference, are the reigning Ryman League Champions, and will prove to be a tough obstacle to overcome if Hendon are to progess into the First Round. The match will take place on Saturday, 28th October at 3.00pm.

Saturday 14 October - Adekola drives Ford out

David Adekola sent Hendon on their way into the fourth qualifying round again, with two excellent drives into the corners of Jimmy Chapman's net. Billy Read scored with another excellent drive in between Adekola's goals, which led to a nail-biting period till Adekola managed to put the Greens back ahead and Ford's late desperate attempts on goal came to nothing. Despite this Hendon could have scored more than just their two goals with Iain Duncan, Jason Solomon, Ross Pickett and Dale Binns, who was a constant menace with his direct running and pace, having chances to put the game beyond their opponents.

Saturday 14 October - More fixture changes

Today's win over Ford United, and the advancement in the cup has led to the postponment of another league game on the 28th of October at Hampton & Richmond, when Hendon will play in the cup - draw to be announced on the Greensline on Monday afternoon. Call (09066) 555 836 (Calls cost 60p at all times.) However, the previously postponed game against Purfleet has now been rearanged for Monday 06th November.

Saturday 14 October - Supporters Association news

A Quiz night has been arranged on Friday 17th November by the Supporters Association, costing only £2 per entrant. Feel welcome to turn up on your own or with your own team, we will make sure everyone can take part. The supporters association are also considering getting a plaque engraved with the names of those who have passed away after great service to the association. If anyone knows of any person whose name should be on the plaque, please approach any member of the committee or let someone in the club shop know.

Friday 13 October - FA Cup news

Should we still be in the competition, the Fourth Qualifying Round Draw for the FA Cup will be available on the Greensline and Greensnet on Monday afternoon. The news for the match against Ford United tommorow is encouraging, despite the recent heavy rainfall. The pitch is in good condition, and there are currently no plans for a pitch inspection. If this should change there will be an announcement both on Greensnet and the Greensline.

Friday 13 October - Good news for Emmanuel

Reserve Team Coach, Tony Emmanuel, had some good news this week when his wife had a baby daughter. We pass on our good wishes to Tony and his family. This news for Tony follows his nasty knee injury a couple of weeks ago.

Saturday 07 October - Yeading take Bartholomew on loan

Yeading have take young defender Matthew Bartholomew on four week's loan. Bartholomew started in 15 games last season, most of them towards the end of the season, but with the whole team now fit, and the new signings, first team opportunities have been severely limited.

Friday 06 October - Greens beat Maidenhead

Hendon gained another three points tonight at the LOOT stadium, beating Divisional new-commers Maidenhead United 2-1. Hendon took a 27th minute lead through Haule after being set through. In the 60th minute Hendon broke quickly from a corner to double the lead through Fitzgerald. In the 87th minute however, a goal past Wilmot set up a nailbiting finish.

Monday 02 October - Dons drawn at home to Ford

The second FA Cup game for the Greens this season will see Ford United visiting the LOOT Stadium in the third qualifying round. Ford are no strangers to playing in the cup, having travelled to Preston North End in the first round two years ago. However, the gap was 5 divisions between the two clubs then rather than the one division gap now, Ford having won promotion in two successive seasons.
