Saturday 29 September - Greens overcome scare

Hendon won at Southend Manor in todays FA Cup game, but the victory was far from comfortable. Southend caused numerous problems in the first half for Hendon, with Hendon also causing a few for Southend, before Paul Towler headed a 40th minute goal for the Greens. However, the Manor continued to cause problems, with Sean Wright finally scoring with a blistering strike from outside the area. Hearts went into Hendon mouths as Southend continued to go close, but sustained pressure in stoppage time told for the Dons, as Watson broke clear and lobbed Karraer in the 95th minute. A further five minutes of stoppage time left Hendon fans worrying, but Hendon comfortably held out to the end of the game. Dave Anderson admitted after the game that it wasn't as comfortable as he would have liked, but pointed out that "the important thing was that we won".

Tuesday 25 September - First win in six

Hendon's run of five consecutive defeats ended this evening as the Greens set about defeating a lacklustre Kingstonian side at the LOOT stadium. However, it took 67 minutes till Hendon took the lead, with Ruggles scoring with a header in only his second game for the club, having had an earlier goal dissalowed. Hendon continued to look for further goals, and got their second just before full-time, with good build-up play leading up to a typical shot from Binns out of the blue. Hook failed to be particularly troubled throughout the game by Kingstonian, and Hendon were glad to finally gain another three points.

Saturday 22 September - Better performance but another defeat

Hendon lost 3-1 at Canvey Island this afternoon, but the scoreline was a little harsh on the Greens. Hendon had the best of the first half, and defended very well keeping the score goalless. Canvey took the lead in the 49th minute through Chris Duffy, and then in the 75th minute Paul Cobb scored with his first touch. Tuesday 18 September - Another grave day

Hendon lost their fourth consecutive game today to three first-half goals from Gravesend & Northfleet. Hendon made little impact in the first half, with goals in the 27th, 29th and 44th minutes killing the game off as a contest. Hendon's current woes dropped deeper as Ricci Crace had to be taken to hospital by one of six Hendon supporters at the game with a suspected knee injury. Saturday 15 September - Three defeats in a row

Hendon's inexperience showed once again today as they lost their third match in succession going down 3-1 to Basingstoke Town. Basingstoke took the lead in the 12th minute through Sean Gorman, before Davis Haule equalised from the penalty spot shortly before half time after Ricci Crace was felled in the area. Hendon were denied from winning another point by a late goal from Bedford's Nando Perna, who scored the winner tonight well into stoppage time. The Greens got off to a good start as Paul Towler headed in a Paul Johnson corner in the 40th minute. However, Bedford had other ideas, and scored in the 72nd from a free kick, with a deflection from Lee O'Donnell putting the ball beyond Hook's reach. However, Hendon's woes deepened after the second goal, with Chris Sparks apparently not having learnt from Jon-Barrie Bates' dismissal on Saturday - the midfielder being sent off for dissent after Perna had scored.

After Norwich released him in the summer, he went to Southend on trial and appeared for them in the preseason friendly at LOOT Stadium in July. However, he picked up an injury a couple of weeks later and the Shrimpers decided not to sign him. He made his debut as a substitute at Braintree.

Saturday 08 September - Greens' hopes take a dive

Hendon's hopes for continuing their good run of form fell today as Braintree took all three points at Cressing Road. A well taken penalty and a well struck free-kick, both placed out of Hook's reach, from Reinelt secured all three points early into the game. However, both Crace and O'Donnell were unlucky to score for Hendon who were denied by the woodwork more than once, but the Dons were not helped as they had another player sent off for two bookings, this time Jon-Barrie Bates being the offender.

Tuesday 04 September - Hook makes a point

David Hook performed well tonight to keep Hendon in their game at Hampton, helping the Greens to earn a 0-0 draw. Hampton performed far better than the Dons, yet simply couln't score. However, Hendon's cause wasn't helped by Dale Binns being forced off the pitch after 30 minutes with a dead leg, Haule being sent off for a second yellow card or Ricci Crace's penalty being well saved by Stuart MacKenzie.

Dale Binns shone in today's game at the LOOT Stadium, scoring two of Hendon's four goals on the way to a 4-3 victory. Haule scored a quick fifth minute header for Hendon but Sutton quickly took the game on, scoring in the 15th minute and the 26th with a penalty, to look the better side going in at half time with the score at 2-1. Hendon came out firing in the second half, however, with Bates scoring an easy tap-in to equalise, before Binns scored two superb goals, both leaving Martini with no chance. Hendon looked superior in the second half, but gave away a second penalty which Boothe duly dispatched to set up yet another nailbiting finish.
