A late equaliser from Dave Diedhiou earnt Hendon a barely deserved 3-3 draw at Burnham this evening.
The first half saw the Greens put in one of their poorest performances for many months. The home side were 3-0 ahead by half-time, and with better finishing, could easily have been six or seven ahead.
The second half saw a distinct improvement from the Greens, but they had to wait until the 75th minute for a goal when Carl McCluskey. Jefferson Louis then doubled the lead with a retaken penalty before Diedhiou continued his run of pre-season goals with a minute to go.

The squad are back in action this evening as they travel to Burnham for their latest friendly, and we are pleased to say that there will be live updates from the game.
The livescores service is in the process of being relaunched, and we have been asked to test it this evening.
Unfortunately, it hasn't yet been set up so that the updates can appear on the messageboard, but updates will appear on the club twitter feed which you can get to from the front page of the website - the link is in the right hand side.
Please bear with us if there are any hiccups with the system this evening - it is still in testing so there may be bugs that haven't yet been discovered.
We are not expecting there to be live updates from the games against Northwood or Chelsea U21, but normal service should resume from the beginning of the season.

The draw for the Robert Dyas League Cup has been made today, and we have been drawn away to Wealdstone.

The date for the game will be announced in the next few days.

It has been announced in the past few minutes that Thurrock have lost their arbitration hearing over their points deduction. As a result their relegation to Division One North is finally confirmed, along with the news that Carshalton Athletic remain in the Premier Division. Therefore we will be playing the Robins this season as planned in the fixtures that were released a couple of weeks ago.

As you know, we are a small fans-owned club run almost exclusively on a volunteer basis. That means that we are completely reliant on our small band of volunteers for such activities as keeping the website up-to-date, providing Twitter match updates and match day operations.
From time to time, we're going to encounter situations where we simply do not have sufficient bodies to do everything that we would like to do. From time to time, the website will not be updated as quickly as you would like. Occasionally, we will not be able to offer Twitter updates or match reports.
That's frustrating for all of us, whether you're one of our small band of volunteers, someone who has been unable to attend a specific game or someone who lives in Outer Mongolia and whose only contact with the club is through Twitter, Facebook and the website.
Please think about becoming a volunteer. It doesn't have to cost you a penny and it doesn't have to mean that you miss a minute of any game. If you are prepared to help out in some capacity, please let us know by emailing us at email@example.com or by speaking to Simon Lawrence or Graham Etchell at a game.
If you don't want to or can't volunteer, that's fine but please don't complain when there is a delay in updating the website or there are no Twitter updates because we really are doing our best."

It was announced on Thursday evening that Cafferty Construction have agreed to sponsor our shirts for the forthcoming season. The company are based in Edgware, and are an experienced construction company who offer an excellent service within projects of all sizes. They specialise in commercial, financial and residential work predominately in London and the Home Counties.
We are delighted to be in partnership with Cafferty Construction, and we look forward to seeing their representatives at our games throughout the season.

Hendon returned to winning ways this afternoon as they won their latest friendly at Marlow 2-1.
The Greens took a deserved lead in the 17th minute through Dave Diedhiou, when he headed home a Tony Taggart cross, and that was the only goal of the opening period.
Jefferson Louis finished of a fine passing move ten minutes into the second period, whilst Marlow's goal came with ten minutes to go.

The Supporters Association AGM was also held on Thursday evening, and there is no change to the committee for the forthcoming season. Therefore the committee is Mike Hogan (Chairman), Sandra Wood (Secretary), Geraldine Clarke (Treasurer), Bernard Lawrence, Les Vincent, John Rock, John Hodson.
Mike Hogan was presented with the HFCSA Supporter fo the Year in recognition of 50 years' service to the Association.
Unfortunately the accounts were not available due to illness, and an Extraordinary General Meeting will be scheduled as soon as they are available. However, it was noted that future income will be lower than in the past because, as a result of our move to Earlsmead, we will no longer be responsible for catering. The Association paid for the printing of programmes throughout 2012/13 and organised and paid for the recent Awards Night.
It was noted that we have been unable to produce and sell a great deal of merchandise in the recent past. This is unfortunate because merchandise represents a potentially healthy income stream. A request has been made for someone to put themselves forward to become responsible for sourcing and selling HFC-related merchandise. If you think you might be that person, please speak to a member of the HFCSA committee.
Members were also reminded that the club is fans-owned, so more volunteers are needed to increase our small but very loyal band of volunteers. Remember, if we do not, collectively, do all of the things that need to be done on match days and away from the ground, then we will not have a club to support.
The final request was to see if anyone would be able to offer the club some additional storage space to help streamline match day operations. If anyone has a spare room or an empty garage and would be prepared to offer it for storage, please could they let the club know.

The Supporters Trust AGM took place on Thursday evening, and there have been some changes to the trust board. Michael Cox has stepped down from the board, and John Rice will take over the post of secretary. We are very grateful to Michael for offering his valuable experience over the past two or three years. The other change is that Phil Rogers has stepped down as co-chairman due to increased commitments away from football, but he will remain on the board.
Therefore, the board for the coming year is Bryan Roberts (Chairman), John Rice (Secretary), Mike Harte (Treasurer), Eddie Edwards, John Rock, Danny Abrahams, Nathan Persaud, Bridget Harte, Simon Lawrence and Phil Rogers.
There are currently a number of vacancies on the trust board, and they are on the lookout for people to join the board. If you are interested and would like to find out more, please speak to any member of the board.
The trust accounts were accepted and Gerald Edelman, the Trust's Auditor has been appointed for the coming year. However, it was re-iterated that cash reserves have continued to diminish, which means it is increasingly important that every supporter makes every effort to help increase income.
The meeting ended with a Q&A session with club chairman Simon Lawrence.
Full minutes of the meeting will be circulated to trust members in due course.

The draw for the London Senior Cup was made earlier this week, and in the first round we have been drawn away to Dulwich Hamlet.
Should we progress, we would then be at home to Hanwell Town or Harrow Borough in the second round.
The format of the competition has been revised from previous years, and there are no exemptions anymore. This season, the four semi-finalists from last season have been given byes to the second round.
A date for the game against Dulwich will be announced in due course.

We regret to announce that our planned friendly on Tuesday evening at Burnham has been cancelled. This is due to the fact that their pitch is currently unplayable - their game against Wycombe Wanderers last night was postponed shortly before kick off.
We are looking to find a replacement fixture, so please keep checking the website for further news.

Hendon were well beaten 4-1 by Barnet this evening at The Hive, in just the second game to ever be played in the stadium.
After the Bees had gone two goals ahead, the Greens pulled a goal back just before half time. Dean Cracknell picked up the ball in the Barnet half and carried the ball forward before passing it out wide to Brandon Horner. The youngster took control of the ball near the corner flag and delivered the perfect cross for Anthony Thomas to head home.
The second half saw the Bees score two further goals, and there was one amusing moment when two sprinkers started up near the Hendon penalty area while the game was still in progress.

Our friendly against Barnet will now take place at The Hive tomorrow evening - kick off remains as 7:15pm.
We are unable to host the game at Earlsmead due to unforeseen circumstances, but the Bees have kindly come to the rescue.

Stadium logistics will be confirmed in due course but it is proposed that it will be half open with spectators located in the East Stand.

We have our first home friendly of the summer tomorrow evening when we entertain Conference Premier side Barnet at Earlsmead, kicking off at 7:15pm.
With both sides now playing in the London Borough of Harrow rather than our home borough of Barnet, both clubs are able to empathise with each other about their situations.
Barnet, despite their relegation from the Football League last season, begin a new era as they start life at their new home at The Hive. Those supporters who were at our friendly against Maidenhead United last week will have seen the impressive new stand in the stadium.
The Bees have named former Dutch international Edgar Davids in their squad, he is now their player-manager, so this is a wonderful opportunity to see a famous name in action.
Admission prices are a bargain £5 for adults, £2.50 for senior citizens and students, and free for under 16's. With the slightly earlier kick-off than normal, it is an ideal way to bring your friends and family for what promises to be an entertaining evening of football.
The clubhouse at Earlsmead will be open before the game, at half-time and afterwards, and supporters of both sides will be made very welcome. The usual refreshments will be on sale inside the ground.
A programme will be issued, which will also cover the game against Chelsea U21. It will contain the same number of pages as our normal matchday programme, and will cost £2.
We hope you see as many of you as possible there tomorrow evening.

Hendon's pre-season preparations continued in a positive manner this afternoon as they won 2-1 at Cheshunt.
The home side took the lead midway through the first half courtesy of a Lee Brennan penalty, but Anthony Thomas levelled things up just before half-time. The winner came late in the second period courtesy of Dave Diedhiou.

The Ryman League fixtures have been released for the new season and we will begin with a trip to new boys Thamesmead Town, a side we have only played once before. The opening game takes place on Saturday 10th August.
Our first home game is on Monday 12th August when we entertain Dulwich Hamlet, and the following Saturday we entertain Maidstone United, meaning that our first three games are against promoted clubs.
On Boxing Day we make the short trip to Wingate & Finchley, whilst on New Years Day we host Enfield Town. Our Easter Monday trip on 21st April is a seaside one as we travel to Bognor Regis Town.
The full fixture list is now on the fixtures & results page.

Our latest new face to join the squad is 19 year old defender Brandon Horner, who has spent his formative years with Watford. He joined the Hornets at under 11 level and has been part of the youth set up until his release in May 2012.
Brandon has impressed in his two friendly appearances so far this summer, and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.

Hendon ran out 3-1 winners over Maidenhead United on a 3G pitch at The Hive this evening despite going a goal behind.
The Magpies goal came direct from a free-kick, but Tony Taggart headed an equaliser shortly afterwards. Anthony Thomas then took the Greens into a half-time lead with a fine run into the box which he then finished clinically.
The only goal of the second half came as Dave Diedhiou finished off a quality cross from Scott Cousins.
It was an excellent work-out for the Greens against a side that plays a division higher.

Tomorrow evening sees our second friendly of the summer as we play Maidenhead United at the Hive, kicking off at 7:00pm.
Admission to the game is free, and there is plenty of parking on site, but there is a £1 charge to park. The game will either be played on one of the outside grass pitches or one of the caged 3G pitches. Refreshments are normally available in the main building.

The Greens had their first run out of pre-season on a very hot afternoon as they ran out 2-0 winners at Tring Athletic. Chris Seeby scored the opener midway through the first half, with Dave Diedhiou doubling the lead early in the second period.
A number of trialists were fielded during the game, the most notable of which was former Chelsea and Leeds United defender Michael Duberry. Also trialing were Lee Close, Anthony Thomas - who had a short spell with the Greens a few seasons ago, Brandon Horner, Michael McEntegart, Lewis Jackson, George Bowerman and Paul Cafferty.

The 34 year old was born in Harrow and raised in Harlesden, so is a local lad, and began his career with Risborough Rangers and Thame United before joining Oxford United. Has played for numerous clubs around the country, including lower division Football League clubs.
We warmly welcome Jefferson to the club, and hope that he has a productive and successful time with us.

The 23 year old striker originally joined the Greens in 2010 from Hillingdon Borough, and scored 11 goals in 52 appearances before being struck down with an injury. Had a prolific season for North Greenford last term, and we are delighted to have him back in the Hendon squad.

The Ryman League have announced this evening that the FA have rejected Thurrock's appeal against playing an ineligible player last season.
The FA also upheld the Ryman League's subsequent decision to deduct three points from their 2012-13 record. The points deduction means that Thurrock are placed bottom of the league relegated and will play in Ryman League Division One North next season, with Carshalton Athletic remaining in the Premier Division.
In a statement on their website, the Ryman League confirmed that the make-up of the league is now settled for the new campaign. Fixtures are due to be released next week.

Timings for the day will be confirmed in the next couple of days, but if you are able to spare an hour or two, you will be more than welcome at the ground.
Remember, Earlsmead is now our home too, and by assisting Harrow with the tidy up, we'll make the ground a better place for everyone.
There will be a second tidy up day later in the summer, and we'll announce the date as soon as it is confirmed.

The Greens will face one of three teams in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup in a couple of months time.
Of the three times we could face, we have played Leighton Town and Biggleswade United once each in competitive games, and have never played Irchester United.
Leighton Town, who finished in 21st place in the Evo-Stick Southern League Central Division, a level below us, last season, and will play in the same division next season, beat us 1-0 in a League Cup tie in November 1996. Leighton Town are based in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire.
We faced another Bedfordshire side in Biggleswade United in the FA Cup in September 2005 when we ran out 6-0 winners courtesy of a John Frendo hat-trick and goals from Ross Pickett, Youness Nabil and not forgetting Mark Burgess's only first team strike for the club. Biggleswade play two levels below us in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division, and finished in 18th position last season.
Finally, we have never faced Irchester United. Irchester is a village in Northamptonshire near the towns of Wellingborough and Rushden. This is only the club's third season in the FA Cup, having first entered in the 2011-12 season. Last season they played in the United Counties League Premier Division, but finished 21st and were relegated to Division One, so will be playing three levels below us this coming season.
Irchester United face Biggleswade United on their home ground in the Extra Preliminary Round on Saturday 17th August, with the winners travelling to Leighton Town two weeks later. We then face the winners of that on the weekend of 14th & 15th September. As mentioned yesterday, the date will be confirmed much nearer the time.

We have been drawn at home in the FA Cup, and will play either Leighton Town, Irchester United or Biggleswade United in the first qualifying round. The game is due to be played on the weekend of 14th & 15th September. The date will be confirmed much nearer the time as Harrow have also been drawn at home.
More details on our prospective opponents will be online over the weekend.
