Hendon were beaten 2-1 tonight by a young Reading side this evening at Vale Farm.
After the Premier League side had taken the lead, the Greens equalised just before half-time through Dave Diedhiou.
However, the only second half goal was scored by Reading, who held on for the victory.

A final reminder that tonight sees our home friendly against a side from Premier League side Reading, a game that the squad are really looking forward to.
It will be a tough test for them, and an ideal game as they continue their preparation for the new season which starts in less than 3 weeks.
We hope that with admission priced at just £5 for adults and free for under-16s that as many of you as possible will be able to come along to see how the squad are getting on.
However, if you are coming to the game, please be aware that Team GB Women are playing Brazil at Wembley Stadium this evening, and with other Olympic events taking place at Wembley Arena, the roads and public transport are likely to be busy. We do not expect any parking problems at Vale Farm, but do advise that you allow extra time for your journey to the game.

Fisher were 1-0 winners in tonight's friendly against a Hendon side made up largely of trialists.
The only goal came as early as the 8th minute, but the Greens played plenty of good football, but were unable to convert any chances that game their way.

Hendon ran out 3-0 winners in the annual friendly against landlords Wembley.
Kevin Maclaren opened the scoring as early as the second minute, with Michael Peacock doubling the lead around the half hour mark.
The third goal came in the 57th minute when Casey Maclaren found the back of the net, meaning that the game is the first time the Maclaren brothers have both scored in the same game for the Greens.

We have received more details about admission prices for our forthcoming friendlies.
Firstly, a reminder that tonight's game at Cheshunt will cost £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for under 16s.
Saturday's game against Wembley is now being treated as a home game as we have been asked to man the gates. We will be charging £5 for all adults, with free entry for under 16s. The same prices will be charged on Tuesday evening for the game against Reading.
Monday's game at Fisher has the same pricing structure as Cheshunt, whilst the game at Hitchin in a couple of weeks also has the same price structure, although under 11s will be admitted free.
We are yet to find out any prices for the game at Chalfont St Peter.
With regard to the Maidenhead United game next weekend, access to Bisham Abbey is generally limited to just players and officials, so our advice is that supporters should avoid travelling in case they are not admitted to the complex.

Hendon won both friendlies this evening, 2-1 at Potters Bar Town and 1-0 at Tring Athletic.
At Potters Bar Town, Isaiah Rankin opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, with the home side equalising 11 minutes into the second half.
Meanwhile, a 14th minute goal from Sergio Manusio was enough to win the game at Tring Athletic. The game was most notable for the fact that it saw Dean Cracknell make his first appearance in a Hendon shirt since signing from Welling United earlier in the summer.

Hendon suffered their first defeat of pre-season as Hayes & Yeading United won 3-2 at The Hive this afternoon.
However, the first half belonged to the Greens, and they deservedly took the lead in the 15th minute through Scott Shulton, and the lead was doubled two minutes later when Bradley Wadkins took advantage of a defensive slip to score.
With Hendon making far more changes than their opposition, it was no surprise that Hayes came back into the game through Mark Bentley after 52 minutes, with Manny Williams equalising in the 69 minute. The winning goal came seven minutes later when Victor Osobu, a former Hendon trialist, found the back of the net.

A mixed squad ran out 2-1 winners at Leverstock Green this evening, with a number of trialists on show.
The game, which consisted of two 40 minute halves, saw the home side have the better of the opening exchanges and deservedly take the lead in the 17th minute.
Just after the half-hour mark a superb shot from Michael Murray was tipped onto the bar by the home keeper, but Bradley Wadkins was first to react to head the ball into the net.
The winning goal came 27 minutes into the second period when Sergio Manusio was sent clear of the defence and he was able to finish clinically.

As briefly mentioned yesterday, Gary McCann has arranged a training match against Sun Postal Sports tomorrow afternoon, kicking off at 1:30pm.
Supporters are welcome to go along and watch, and the game will be taking place at Sun Postal Sports & Social Club, Bellmountwood Avenue, Watford, Herts, WD17 3BN
From Watford Town Centre take the A411 Hempstead Road towards Hemel Hempstead, passing West Herts College on the left. At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn left into Langley Way, and at the roundabout turn right into Cassiobury Drive. Then take the first left into Bellmountwood Avenue and the entrance to the ground is on the right. They have a large car park, and there is plenty of street parking.
If you are travelling from the A41 or M25, from the M25 J19/A41 roundabout take the A411 towards Watford. At the first set of lights turn right into Langley Way and then follow the directions above.
The Arriva 500 bus operates half hourly from Watford High Street up Hempstead Road, from where the ground will be about a 10 minute walk following the directions above.

Unfortunately due to the recent wet weather, tonight's friendly at Met Police (Bushey) has been called off to protect their pitch.
However, Gary McCann has arranged a training match with Sun Postal Sports on Saturday afternoon, kicking off at 1.30pm at Sun Postal's ground in Watford. Full details of how to find the ground will appear on the site later.

Tonight sees the first friendly of the "summer" as the squad take the next step on their preparations for the new season.
The game at Met Police (Bushey) will kick off at 7.00pm, and there is no admission charge. When you arrive in the car park, you don't need to go into the clubhouse - just walk to the right of the clubouse onto the playing fields and you will see the senior pitch off to the left.
However, we have been advised that Aldenham Road past the sportsground is closed from 8pm for resurfacing works. We are assured that you will be able to get out of the car park to get home. This also means that the 602 bus that passes the ground will not be able to do so after 8pm. We believe that the nearest stop will be near the Toby Restaurant by the A41 roundabout - about 10 minutes walk.
A brief report and the line-up will appear on the website shortly after the game. For those of you that make use of the livescores service, this will not be operating during the friendlies, but will resume for the first league game of the season.

We are pleased to announce that full back Eddie Munnelly has returned to the club, whilst both James Parker and Greg Ngoyi have signed league forms.
Munnelly was with us throughout the 2010/11 season, scoring one goal in his 38 appearances. As far as we are aware, he took a year out from the game last season, and we are delighted that he has returned to the club this summer.
Parker now enters his 8th full season with the club, having signed in January 2005, and all being well he'll make his 300th appearance early in the new season. Meanwhile Ngoyi will be entering his 2nd full season and will be hoping that he has an injury-free campaign.
Further registrations are expected over the coming days.
