Hendon began their pre-season preparations on a warm lunchtime at Merchant Taylors School in Northwood today with a 2-1 win over Northwood FC. In what was very much a training game, which consisted of 4 periods of 30 minutes, all three goals came in the third period. Northwood took the lead with a 30 yard free kick, but the Greens equalised when a Danny Edwards cross was poked past the Northwood keeper by one of his defenders. The winner was scored by Daragh Duffy from close range.
There were five new faces in the line up in Casey Maclaren, who was with AFC Wimbledon last season, Junior Adeoye, who was with Harrow Borough, Allan Crosby, a tall striker who has previously been with Braintree Town, Harrow Borough and Hillingdon Borough, Lubo Guentchev, brother of Iavor and son of Bontcho, and Kenda (we don't know his surname yet!) who is a friend of Takumi Ake.

The first team returned to training on Tuesday evening, and Gary McCann was today delighted to confirm that the squad that finished the season with us in April have returned to training with just one exception, details of which are below. Also currently training with us are Lee O'Leary, Ryan Wharton and a number of trialists, one of whom was with AFC Wimbledon last season.
The one player who is definitely moving on is Ross Pickett who has moved away to the West Country. Ross made 189 appearances during two spells with the club, scoring 39 goals, and has been a favourite with the fans due to his excellent workrate. The club would like to thank Ross for all his efforts during his time with us, and wish him every success for the future.
