Sunday 20 June - Women raise their profile on BBC2

Our women's team are being featured on the BBC2 Learning Zone series, Voluntary Matters. The documentary is part of three Workskills in the community programmes which aim to show voluntary organisations how to raise funds. The cameras follow our women as they meet PR and branding experts as they work on the messages that will persuade people to go along to their fund-raising event, a Brazilian Soccer Carnival. "This is a programme that would be extremely useful to a lot of teams who need to raise cash but are not sure how to go about it," said Lou Panteli, Head of Women's Development. "We tested the methods shown to us in the programme and they produced fantastic results. Armed with these tools we found it easier to persuade people to part with their cash." Voluntary Matters: Persuasion airs on BBC2 Learning Zone tomorrow. The first programme went out last week.
