Saturday 30 June - FA Cup and Trophy draws

Hendon have been drawn away in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup to Romford, Southend Manor, Woodbridge Town or Diss Town. Meanwhile, the FA Trophy has given the Greens a difficult tie at home to Sutton United, with the winners playing either Maidenhead or Northwood. Other ties which have been notable in the FA Cup include Harrow Borough travelling to Kings Lynn, Braintree playing hosts to Chelmsford City and three all Ryman ties - St. Albans vs Billericay, Hampton & Richmond Borough vs Hitchin Town and Maidenhead vs Aldershot. Slough Town, relegated from the Premier Division last season face the misery of starting away to Lewes in the Preliminary Qualifying Round this year, only 3 years after starting in the 4th Qualifying Round.

Monday 25 June - Press officer awarded

Before last night's youth team awards, there was a special award for the club's Press Officer David Ballheimer. Club Secretary Graham Etchell noted that David used to watch at least one youth game every weekend and continues to attend every first team game and as many reserve and midweek youth games as he could, writing reports on every game played by the club.

"The coverage Hendon FC gets in the local paper is down to the amount of work David puts in every week. I know he speaks to all the local papers regularly and tries to get as much coverage for the club as possible. He speaks to all the managers and gets reports from them."

Tuesday 19 June - Only one down this season

Monday 18 June - Youth team set up announced

The youth team set up for next season has been announced. We will definately be running under 14, under 15 and under 16 teams in the Harrow Youth League. We are hoping to start up an under 13 side, and we are actively looking for someone to manage and coach the side.

We are also hoping that the under 16's will move up and become the under 18 side and play in the Allied Counties Youth League. However, due to the cost of running the side, the club would like to secure a sponsor for the under 18. If anyone is interested in helping the club in this way, please call the club office on 020 8201 9494. It may well turn out that if there is no sponsor secured, then we will not be running an under 18 side next season.

The Ryman League AGM took place last night at which it was confirmed that the proposed restructuring of the Ryman League would go ahead. Underneath the new 24 club Premier Division, there will be two regional 24 club Division Ones, below which will be a 16 club Division Two.

Also at the meeting last night, Alan Turvey was re-elected as Chairman, despite a challenge from former Chesham United chairman David Pembroke.
