Sunday 20 May - U14s complete the double

Hendon Under-14s ended their season, and Hendon's 2006-07 season on a high note as they beat FC Roundwood in the League Cup final at Claremont Road. Just one goal decided the outcome, and that came courtesy of Nestor Bokuli. Speaking after the game manager John Creith said "It was a very tight game and after Nestor scored we were unable to find the second to make things a bit more comfortable. However, I am delighted with the performance and with the fact that we have completed the double."

Monday 14 May - 2007-08 league line-up confirmed

The FA National Leagues Committee has announced the league line-ups for the 2007-08 season today. As expected Hampton & Richmond Borough and Bromley have been promoted to Blue Square Southern (formerly Conference South), whilst Worthing, Walton & Hersham and Slough Town have been relegated to Step 4. Harrow Borough, despite finishing as the worst 19th placed side, have been reprieved after Farnborough Town dropped down to Step 4, whilst Hayes have been reprieved from relegation from Conference South for the same reason. Consequently we don't receive any clubs from Step 2. Bedford Town and Weston-super-Mare have both gone into the Southern League. One club is transferring from the Southern League in the form of local rivals Wealdstone. Finally four clubs have been promoted into the division, those clubs being AFC Hornchurch, Harlow Town, Maidstone United and Hastings United.

Therefore the full line-up for the Ryman League Premier Division is as follows : AFC Hornchurch, AFC Wimbledon, Ashford Town (Middx), Billericay Town, Boreham Wood, Carshalton Athletic, Chelmsford City, East Thurrock United, Folkestone Invicta, Harlow Town, Harrow Borough, Hastings United, Hendon, Heybridge Swifts, Horsham, Leyton, Maidstone United, Margate, Ramsgate, Staines Town, Tonbridge Angels, Wealdstone.

Sunday 13 May - U15s end season in defeat

Hendon Under-15s completed their title winning season on a low note this afternoon as they slipped to a 4-2 defeat at Acton Ealing Whistlers A. Conor Newman gave Hendon the lead in the 20th minute but by half-time the score was level after Acton equalised in the 32nd minute. Acton took the lead five minutes into the second half, before Kyran McCarthy restored parity on the hour mark. However, this only spurred the Whistlers into action as they took the game away with goals in the 64th and 67th minutes to secure the three points. However, this result must not take away the excellent season the under-15s have had this season in their first season together under the leadership of manager Kris Bhalla.

Sunday 06 May - U15s win by default again

For the second week in a row, the under-15s won by default. This time it was because their opponents, Hampstead B, were unable to field a side. This means that the Greens are awarded the three points for the game. The final game of the season for the under-15s comes next Sunday when they travel to Acton Ealing Whistlers A.

Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that the under-16s will finish 2nd in their division, and the under-13s will finish 3rd in their division. Fully updated tables can be found on the relevant team pages as usual.

Sunday 06 May - U14s on course for double

Hendon Under-14s continued their excellent form by seeing off another Premier Division scalp in their league cup semi-final. Their 3-1 win on penalties takes the team into the final where they will meet fellow Division One side FC Roundwood as they persue a double. Hendon took the lead in the 8th minute through Nassir Elmi, but Pinner equalised midway through the first period and the half ended with the scores level. Pinner took the lead during the second period, but like the first team, this group of talented youngsters don't know when they are beaten. With three minutes of normal time remaining Abdi Osman lifted the ball into the net to take the game into extra-time. Both sides had chances during extra-time, the closest coming when Pinner hit the woodwork, but the game moved into penalties. Both sides missed their first penalties before Jahrell Best scored for the Greens. Pinner had their next one saved by Parker Gilbert, Hendon missed their next spot kick before Pinner scored to equalise after three penalties each. Gavin Austin then found the back of the net for Hendon, Pinner missed their fourth, meaning that Nassir Elmi had to convert to win the tie for Hendon. This he did with aplomb to cue celebrations among the Hendon players and supporters. John Creith was once again full of praise for his squad and refused to single out any individual player saying that they all deserved the man of the match award. Details of the final will be published on the website as soon as they are available.

Wednesday 02 May - U14s win league title

Hendon Under-14s completed their league season with a convincing 5-0 win over Alpha & Omega at Claremont Road. The Greens drew first blood after 90 seconds through Nestor Bokuli, and shortly afterwards the lead was doubled by captain Ryan Brennan. Bokuli scored his second of the game midway through the half and before half-time Bokuli had completed his hat-trick to make the score 4-0. Alpha & Omega came out fighting and were unlucky not to pull a goal back, but Bokuli fired the ball home for his fourth of the game. Bokuli was very unlukcy not to score a stunning when his fierce 25-yard drive slammed against the crossbar and bounced away to safety. After the game manager John Creith was ecstatic, it is the second title the team have won in consecutive seasons, and sung the praises of all the players that had contributed throughout the season. The team now move back into league cup action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to play Pinner Albion in the semi-finals. The game will be played at Headstone Manor, kicking off at 2.00pm.
