Saturday 29 March - Greens drop points at Billericay

Hendon dropped two points in a 1-1 draw at Billericay Town this afternoon in a game that they ought to have won had they taken their first half chances. Both goals came within 30 seconds of each other, Billericay taking the lead in the 25th minute through Billy Bricknell, before Belal Aiteouakrim took advantage of a poor clearance from Darren Blewitt to equalise almost straight from the restart. The point moves the Greens up into 7th place, keeping their play-off hopes alive as they now move into a must-win game against Boreham Wood on Tuesday evening at Claremont Road.

Monday 24 March - Middlesex disappointment for Hendon

Hendon were unable to regain the Middlesex Senior Cup as they lost 3-0 to Hampton & Richmond Borough this evening in the final at Uxbridge. However, it should be said that the Greens had the lions share of possession, but it was in the final third of the pitch that the game was won, with Hampton taking their chances. They opened the scoring midway through the first half, whilst two late goals in the second half secured the win for the Blue Square South side. Hendon will now look to move back into the play-off places as they return to league action for a month, before the London Senior Cup final on 22nd April.

Saturday 22 March - Tonbridge game called off

Hendon now face an Easter weekend without a league game as this afternoon's trip to Tonbridge has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Overnight rain in the area led to the Angels calling for a 10:00 pitch inspection by a local referee, and he felt the pitch was unlikely to be playable this afternoon. The Dons will now face a Tuesday night trip to Longmead for a rearranged game on a date yet to be decided.

Tuesday 18 March - Greens have comfortable win

Hendon returned to winning ways in the league with a comfortable 3-1 win over Ashford Town (Middlesex). Despite going a goal behind after 54 seconds to a Paul Johnson free-kick, Hendon had by far the better of the game and equalised in the 29th minute courtesy of a Brian Haule penalty. Belal Aiteouakrim put the Greens ahead on the stroke of half-time before Haule completed the scoring in the 66th minute finishing off a fine move. The result moves the Greens back up to fourth place as they now look ahead to a tough trip to Tonbridge Angels, who have won their last six games.

Monday 17 March - It's Tooting in the final

Our opponents in the London Senior Cup final will be Tooting & Mitcham United who won 1-0 at Fisher Athletic in their semi-final this evening. The goal came against the run of play in the twentieth minute when the Fisher keeper dropped a clanger, and from there onwards Tooting were the better side.

Monday 17 March - Youth team round up

Only one of our youth teams was in action this weekend, the under 21s who beat The Wanderers 6-0 at Copthall Playing Fields, Raphael O'Selle scoring twice. The win gives the team a great chance of finishing second. Sunday's games were washed out, but the under 16s have a great chance of winning their division, whilst the under 15s are almost certain of a top two finish.

Saturday 15 March - Greens pick up undeserved point

Hendon picked up a barely deserved point in a 2-2 draw with Folkestone Invicta this afternoon. Folkestone deservedly took the lead in the 30th minute through Charlie Glyde, before the Greens equalised three minutes into the second half courtesy of Brian Haule. The visitors regained the lead when Kevin Watson scored from the spot in the 75th minute, but Casey Maclaren scored the all important second equaliser five minutes from time.

Wednesday 12 March - Another final awaits

Hendon reached their second cup final of the season yesterday evening when they beat Bromley 2-0 at Hayes Lane in the London Senior Cup final. Either Fisher Athletic or Tooting & Mitcham will be the opponents in the final, they play their semi-final on Monday evening. The final will take place at Metropolitan Police FC on Tuesday 22nd April, kicking off at 7.30pm. The goals last night were scored by Lubo Guentchev in the 60th minute and Daniel Dyer in the 82nd minute to give the Greens a thoroughly deserved win.

Saturday 08 March - Wombles win through

Two first half goals were enough for AFC Wimbledon to win this afternoon at Claremont Road. The opening goal came in the 8th minute when Chris Hussey converted a spot kick, and the second shortly before half-time when Romone Rose headed home at the far post. Hendon played positively and played some good football but were unable to take their chances, particularly in the second half.

Thursday 06 March - Arrangements for Saturday

Arrangements for Saturday's game against AFC Wimbledon are much as in previous years. The regular bar will be open for home supporters, whilst we are opening up the larger back bar where visiting supporters will be warmly welcomed. Turnstiles will be open as normal at the clubhouse end of the ground, and we ask that supporters don't leave it until the last minute to enter the ground to avoid congestion. Also, to help speed up the entry process it would be helpful if supporters could carry the correct money. Admission prices are as normal, £8.00 for adults and £4.00 for concessions with no additional charge for seats in the stand. Latecomers will be admitted via the turnstiles only, we will not be taking money after kick-off on the members gate as we do normally.

Supporters travelling by public transport are also asked to note that First Capital Connect are not stopping at Cricklewood on Saturday, whilst there is no Northern Line service between Camden Town and Golders Green. Supporters are advised to use the Jubilee Line to West Hampstead, where they can catch a C11 bus to the ground, or Jubilee Line to Kilburn, where they can catch a 189 bus which also goes past the ground. Both the C11 and 189 are scheduled to operate at least every 10 minutes.

Sunday 02 March - U16s reach cup final

The under 16s today reached the Harrow Youth League Cup Final for their age group with a 2-1 win at Springfield despite going a goal behind in the 17th minute to a 35 yard drive. Two minutes later parity was restored when Conor Newman converted a penalty, before Yomi Smith scored what turned out to be the winner in the 30th minute. The Greens had goalkeeper Jermaine Ankrah to thank for a number of fine saves as they held on to earn the right to meet Hampstead in the final, the date of which will be confirmed in due course.

Elsewhere this weekend, the under 21s beat Uxbridge Town 3-1, Simon Connaughton, Michael Roache and Ercan Yildarim on the scoresheet, whilst the under 15s won 4-2 against Pinner Albion, Nasser Elmi and Abdi Osman scoring two goals each.

The goals from our win at Horsham yesterday have been put online by the Horsham website. They are worth watching for Belal Aiteouakrim's goal in particular.

Saturday 01 March - Greens back to winning ways

Hendon returned to winning ways in the league at the 9th attempt, and at the same time moved back into the play-off spots, with a 2-1 win at Horsham. The home side were by far and away the better side in the first half and deservedly led at half-time with a 33rd minute goal from Lee Farrell. Hendon came back to life in the second half and equalised in the 72nd minute through Brian Haule, before Belal Aiteouakrim secured the win in the second minute of stoppage time.
