There will be a pitch inspection at 10:30am tomorrow morning to see if our home game against Harrow Borough can go ahead.
The website, messageboard and twitter feed will all be updated as soon as the result of the inspection is known.

Today's game at Bury Town was postponed just after 9:00am due to a waterlogged pitch. We are grateful to the officials at Bury for keeping us updated over the past couple of days with regards to the state of their pitch.
A new date for the game will be announced in due course.

We have just received a pitch update from Bury Town, and there will be a pitch inspection at 9:00am to see if the game can go ahead. Bury report that the pitch is pad in a couple of places and having been working all day today, will be working on them from early in the morning.
However, it is unlikely that we will be able to update the website immediately in the morning as our regular website editor will already be on his way to the station in case the game is on!
However, we will ensure that the twitter feed and messageboard are updated as soon as we get the result of the inspection so please check one of those outlets.

The first team picked up another important three points this afternoon as they beat Wingate & Finchley 1-0 at a wet Harry Abrahams Stadium.
Wingate were eventually made to pay for their ill-discipline, they had a player sent off midway through the second half for violent conduct, in the final minute of normal time.
The goal came after former player Scott Shulton handled the ball on the line to reduce the home side to nine men, which allowed Julian Owusu-Bekoe to convert the spot kick and secure the points.
It was another hard-working performance from the Greens, who had the lions share of possession, but things just didn't run for them in front of goal until that final minute.

We are pleased to announce that the Wingate & Finchley pitch has passed the inspection, and today's game goes ahead as planned.

Unfortunately, due to the strike on the London Underground, tube travel is severely disrupted today for those planning to travel to Wingate & Finchley. At the time of this going online - Transport for London are only expecting the Northern Line to run between East Finchley and High Barnet with no services to or from Central London or on the Edgware branch. Also, there are no National Rail services operating in North London.
However, London Buses are running a Sunday service on the route (382 - Southgate to Mill Hill East) that passes the ground and the route (263 - Barnet Hospital to Holloway) that passes the end of Summers Lane. The 382 is due to operate every 30 minutes, and the 263 every 12 minutes during the day.
For those travelling by car, there is plenty of side street parking, but please park considerately so that local residents are not inconvenienced.

The directors, management, players and club officials of Hendon FC would like to wish all our supporters a very Merry Christmas and good wishes for the New Year.
We are very grateful for all the support that you give, in whatever way that may be, and we hope that we will see as many of you as possible at our games over the festive period and throughout 2013.

Our Boxing Day game this year is against Wingate & Finchley, and the game at the Harry Abrahams Stadium will kick off at 3.00pm. Admission for the game is £10 adults, £5 concessions and £3 for under 16s. Programmes are priced at £2.
This is another extremely important game as we look to move away from the relegation zone, with Wingate placed just below us in the table, so your vocal support will be very important as the players look to pick up another three points, so why not bring your family and friends along and show them that supporting Hendon is enjoyable and fun.
Should any inspection be required, we will update the website and twitter feed on the morning of the game. Unfortunately the postponement hotline is not operational at the moment due to technical reasons.

This afternoon's floodbuster friendly between Hendon and Wealdstone ended 1-1 at The Hive.
Following a goalless first half, in which Wealdstone's Peter Dean had the best chance to score, it was Richard Jolly who opened the scoring for the Stones in the 64th minute. However, the lead lasted just seven minutes with Jack Mazzone finding the back of the net.

Unfortunately, as people will have guessed, the weather has also resulted in the cancellation of the planned bake sale.
The organiser of the event, Nathan Persaud, has announced that it will not be rearranged in the foreseeable future due to goods spoiling etc. He sent the following message to us to pass on to everyone.
"I wanted to say a particular thank you to everyone who had made things and intended to bring them in. It's this kind of spirit we need from people as a club and it was lovely to have people pledge items and spend a lot of time baking. Other items may be sold in the future in the club shop, we will look into this idea."

Following the postponement of our league match today, we have hastily arranged a training match against Wealdstone this afternoon.
The game will be played on one of the 3G pitches at The Hive in Canons Park and will kick off at 1.00pm. Supporters are welcome to attend, but please be aware that there is no protection from the elements around the pitch so you will get very wet.
There is no charge to watch the game, but there is a £1 parking fee to park at The Hive.

Gary McCann has made two additions to the squad today whilst Greg Ngoyi has moved on to pastures new.
Joining the Greens are Jack Connors, who is an 18 year old midfielder, on work-experience terms from Dagenham & Redbridge, and Samuel Flegg, a 24 year old defender who has been a regular for Thatcham Town this season. We warmly welcome both players to the club and hope that they enjoy their time with us.
Meanwhile, Greg Ngoyi has joined Southern League side St Albans City and will be available to play for them tomorrow - weather permitting. Greg scored 29 goals in his 71 appearances for the club and we wish him well for the future.

Tomorrow is our final home game of 2012, and is also the day of the Great Hendon FC Bake Sale. Nathan Persaud has worked hard to organise the sale, and there will be plenty of items for sale so that you can stock up for the Christmas and New Year holiday.
Our opponents tomorrow are Whitehawk, in what will be our first return fixture of the campaign following our 0-0 draw in Sussex back in August. The Hawks have had an excellent first half of the season, their first at this level, and are currently second in the table with 33 points from 17 games. Their game last Saturday at home to Margate was abandoned early in the second half due to a waterlogged pitch.
Gary McCann and the squad go into the game looking to ensure that they build on the victory at Thurrock on Tuesday evening and apart from a couple of players carrying minor knocks, Gary has a full squad to pick from.
Kick off tomorrow is at 3.00pm, and the bake sale will be running before, during and after the game, so why not take a break from your Christmas preparations and come down to Vale Farm.
Obviously, with the weather forecast not looking good, and following the prolonged rain over the past couple of days, we would advise that you check after 10.00am tomorrow morning to see if any inspection is planned. The website, twitter feed, messageboard and postponement hotline will be updated as soon as there is any news.

We will be travelling to Croydon in the last 16 of the London Senior Cup following their 2-1 win over Redbridge this evening. The game will take place in the new year, and we will announce the date as soon as it has been agreed.

The first team beat long-time bogey side Thurrock 2-1 this evening at Ship Lane, just the 5th time in 22 attempts that the Greens have beaten their opponents. The result also moves the Greens out of the relegation zone.
However, it was Thurrock who took the lead in the 23rd minute, and the Hendon faithful had to wait until the 77th minute for Howard Hall's equaliser. The winner came in the 90th minute when Darren Currie converted a spot kick.

Our home game against Hastings United will be rearranged after they were given a league cup tie to play on 15th January instead. The new date will be announced in due course.

The first team have a crucial set of fixtures coming up over the next fortnight, beginning with a must win game at Thurrock tomorrow evening.
The Essex side lie just one place and one point ahead of the Greens, but have two games in hand. With games coming up against the two sides immediately above Thurrock, it is crucial that Hendon start picking up points, and more importantly wins, to ensure that they aren't left cast adrift in the bottom two.
Thurrock drew 1-1 with FA Cup heroes Hastings United on Saturday, and are in their first season at this level since 2004 following their relegation from Blue Square South last term.
For the first time in a number of weeks, the Greens go into the game with no suspensions, meaning that Gary McCann and the backroom staff have a good choice of players to pick. They will be very keen to ensure that the recent good performances are turned into results as a matter of urgency, and will do everything they can to make sure the players are prepared and ready to go.
Kick off at Ship Lane is at 7.45pm tomorrow, with admission priced at £10 adults, £6 concessions and £2 juniors.

The under 15's President's Cup game at East Bergholt today has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The first team's league struggles continued this afternoon as they were beaten 3-1 at Bognor Regis Town.
All the goals came in the last 16 minutes, with Harvey Whyte opening the scoring for the Rocks in the 74th minute. Terry Dodd doubled the lead 10 minutes later, before Daryl Wollers scored the third as the game moved into stoppage time. There was time for Dean Cracknell to score a consolation for the Greens, but they will be heading home pointless once again.

We are pleased to announce the signing of young striker Niko Muir, who has joined the squad in time to be named for todays game at Bognor Regis Town.
Niko was with Grays Athletic last season, and has been playing Sunday football for Phoenix this term.

Bognor Regis Town have reported that their pitch is heavy after yesterday's rain but is draining well, and this afternoon's game is on.
Kick off at Nyewood Lane is at 3.00pm. Please note that there is no concessionary admission price for senior citizens, the price for all adults is £9.00. There are concessionary rates for juniors.

Unfortunately there will not be a 2013 calendar issued for sale by the Supporters Trust this year.

Hendon were beaten 2-1 by Kingstonian this evening at a chilly Kingsmeadow.
Whilst Hendon more than matched their hosts in terms of possession, as so often has been the case this season, they lacked the cutting edge in front of goal to take anything from the game.
That said, both the K's goals came from set pieces - the first in the 19th minute came after a corner wasn't cleared and Kieran Murphy headed the ball home, and the second direct from a free-kick coverted by Matt Pattinson.
Hendon's goal came in the final minute of normal time when Julian Owusu-Bekoe finished off a move involving Berkley Laurencin and Jack Mazzone.

The first team's busy schedule continues tomorrow evening with a trip to Kingstonian. Kick off at Kingsmeadow will be at 7.45pm as the Greens look to build on Saturday's win over Carshalton Athletic.
The K's currently lie in 9th place in the table with 23 points from 14 games, and picked up three points yesterday with a 1-0 win over Bognor Regis Town, the goal coming from the penalty spot.
Admission at Kingsmeadow is £10 adults, £7 concessions, £4 students and under 16s free. Any under 11s must be accompanied by an adult.

Our under 15s continued their improved form with a 4-1 win at Clapton earlier today.
The youngsters led 1-0 before being pulled back by the East London side, but then converted two penalties as they scored three goals in a dominant second half display.

Hendon picked up a very important win this afternoon as they beat Carshalton Athletic 3-1 in the bottom of the table clash.
Although the Greens remain second from bottom, they go into Monday's game at Kingstonian in the knowledge that a positive result will move the club out of the relegation zone.
It was Julian Owusu-Bekoe who gave the Greens the lead in the 38th minute, with Belal Aite-Ouakrim doubling the lead just before half-time.
Josh Clarke pulled a goal back for the Robins in the 56th minute but Dave Diedhiou made sure of the points eight minutes from time.

We need everyone, fans and players alike, to play their part on Saturday as we entertain Carshalton Athletic in what has become an early relegation six-pointer.
Whilst the players need to do their part on Saturday by taking the initiative and showing everyone that they want to get the club out of the current predicament we see ourselves in, we also need all our supporters who are able to get to the game to turn up in numbers, just as they did during our FA Cup run, particularly at Aldershot and do their bit as well in getting behind the team. The support in the FA Cup run was tremendous - we now need that same level of vocal support for league games.
None of us want to see the club in a relegation battle, but that is exactly where we are at the moment. We all, players and supporters, need to ensure that we go into Saturday's game with the right attitude to do everything in our power to pick up three points.
As Gary McCann so often says in his programme notes, we are all in this together. Remember, this is your football club, and it is down to all of us, players, management and supporters, to do our best to make it happen, not just on Saturday against Carshalton, but in the 28 league games that follow, along with the London Senior Cup.
Kick off on Saturday at Vale Farm is at the usual time of 3.00pm.

We are sorry to announce that we will unfortunately not be selling replica shirts of this season's home and away shirts.
As many will be aware, we first wore our new home strip at Corby Town in the FA Cup in late October as it was the first opportunity we had following delivery of the kit. However, supporters may be less aware that we were still awaiting delivery of some of our change strip for some time after; it didn't get it's first airing until November 17th at Enfield Town.
Due to the way in which our kit is supplied, while we do request the colours and style that we would like, we don't actually know for sure exactly what we're going to get until we open the box upon delivery; much depends on what is available at the time of dispatch - in the past we have sometimes received an alternative style. This season, our strips were chosen by manager Gary McCann, and happily although late, we did receive what was requested.
Since we couldn't be sure exactly what we were due to receive, it was impossible to organise orders for replica shirts until now which we feel given our experience last season with shirts being made to order taking around 3 months to arrive leaves it too late in the season to provide an ordering period and get shirts to people in good time - we would probably be in a position to supply shirts in February at best.
We apologise for any disappointment and will aim to resolve some of these issues prior to the start of next season so we can supply replicas in a reasonable timeframe again.

Lee O'Leary made his 150th appearance tonight in what was his first competitive Hendon appearance in nearly 2 years. His last appearance was in the 2-2 draw against Cray Wanderers in January 2011. Since then the 27 year old midfielder has been blighted by injuries, but has never given up despite various set backs during his rehabilitation.
We are all delighted to see Lee back in action, and hope that tonight is the first of many more appearances for the club.

Club captain, Scott Cousins, made his 200th appearance for the club this evening at North Greenford United.
He made his debut in August 2003 after he joined us from Chelsea, where he made 27 appearances in the reserve team, and had a few years away from the club during which time he played for St Albans City and Carshalton Athletic, before his return in 2009. Since then he has been one of the first names on the teamsheet and is one of the most consistent performers in the squad, leading by example.

Hendon were dumped out of the Middlesex Senior Cup this evening as they lost 3-2 at North Greenford United.
David Taylor gave the home side the lead in the 11th minute before Julian Owusu-Bekoe equalised for the Greens, leaving the scores level at half-time. Former Hendon striker Aaron Morgan then restored the advantage for North Greenford in the 54th minute, and effectively put the game out of reach in the 84th minute with his second goal of the evening. Casey Maclaren found the back of the net with two minutes ago, but Hendon were unable to find the equaliser to take the game to extra-time.

Our outstanding home game against Canvey Island will now be played on Tuesday 8th January at Vale Farm, kicking off at 7:45pm.

The first team will be looking to emulate the under 15s and reach the quarter finals of the Middlesex Senior CUp this evening as we make the short trip to North Greenford United.
We have only met North Greenford once competitively, and that was in the same competition in December 2006 and we ran out 6-0 winners with Brian Haule and Dean Green both scoring twice, and the other goals coming from Ross Pickett and Ryan Newman.
North Greenford have struggled this season in the Southern League Central Division, and currently lie second from bottom with just 4 points from 16 games, and recently had a change of manager with Neil Shipperley taking over from Jon-Barrie Bates.
Both James Fisher and Casey Maclaren will be available tonight having served their one match suspensions, but Dean Cracknell will miss out again as he continues his three match ban.
The winners of tonight's tie will face a trip to either Wealdstone or Ashford Towm (Middlesex) in the quarter finals.
Kick off at Berkley Avenue is at 7.45pm this evening.

The under 15s kept their county cup run going with a 4-2 victory over Hillingdon Borough in the 4th Round this afternoon.
The Greens took the lead in the 25th minute through Richard Tabi, and the advantage was doubled five minutes later by Luke Yates. Hillingdon, who play in the top division of the Harrow Youth League, pulled a goal back in the 55th minute, only for Yates to restore the two goal lead. Hillingdon repeated the feat in the 66th minute, but Rico Giovanelli netted eight minutes from time to secure the win.
Their reward is a quarter final trip to either LPOSSA B or Wealdstone A in January, whose game was frozen off this morning.

Wealdstone won this afternoon's local derby 2-1 at The Vale on a chilly afternoon, a result that leaves Hendon still in the relegation zone.
Following a goalless first half, Lee Chappell gave the Stones the lead early in the second period. The lead was doubled in the 89th minute, before Belal Aite-Ouakrim pulled a goal back as the game moved into stoppage time.

We are pleased to announce the signing of 23 year old forward Julian Owusu-Bekoe who was with Hayes & Yeading United last season. He has also played in Ghana for Berekum Chelsea. He joined in time to be named in the squad for today's game at Wealdstone.
