Wednesday 26 December - Boxing Day joy for Greens

Hendon continued their good form with a 2-1 win against a battling Boreham Wood in today's lunchtime kick off. The Greens had the perfect start when Wayne O'Sullivan beat the offside trap and cooly slotted the ball home to score his 16th league goal of the season. Boreham Wood equalised early in the second half when a free-kick was touched to Paull Abbott who sent an absolute piledriver of a shot into the roof of the net from 30 yards, Richard Wilmot did very well to get a hand to it. However, five minutes later Hendon regained the lead when a fine move involving a number of players was finished of by the unmarked Brian Haule.

Saturday 22 December - Late goal as Hendon pick up point

Hendon kept up their unbeaten league home record this season with a 1-1 draw against a very well organised Heybridge Swifts side. Heybridge, who were very strong in defence, took the lead in the 24th minute when Stafford Browne was left unmarked at the far post to tap home after Richard Wilmot had done well to parry the ball. The Greens did however show that they never give up and picked up the equaliser in the 88th minute when the referee ruled that a Heybridge defender had handled the ball in the area. Wayne O'Sullivan stepped up and cooly slotted the ball into the net.

Meanwhile, the under 14s beat Hayes Gate 6-4 with Kazim Eiwazali scoring a hat-trick. The other three goals were scored by Luke Azmuah, Oliver Lattuca and Jordan Hornblow.

Saturday 15 December - Records broken as Greens go top

Hendon had a record-breaking afternoon today as they won 11-1 at Leyton. The result is the clubs' highest ever win in the Isthmian League, and it equals two 11-1 wins during our Athenian League days. It is also believed to be the clubs' highest ever away win in all competitions. The day was made even better with the news that Chelmsford City had lost 4-2 at Boreham Wood.

The scoring was opened by Wayne O'Sullivan in the 23rd minute before Lubo Guentchev doubled the lead in the 31st minute. O'Sullivan made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute and that was the score at the break. Leyton pulled a goal back in the 51st minute, but three minutes later their keeper dropped the ball over the line for an own goal. O'Sullivan completed his hat-trick on the hour mark, and scored his fourth of the afternoon in the 64th minute, before Brian Haule made it 7-1 in the 72nd minute. Lubo Guentchev scored his second in the 85th minute, before Jamie Busby scored two in two minutes immediately afterwards. The eleventh goal was scored by Ivailo Dimitrov - his first goal for the club.

Saturday 08 December - It's a wet, muddy draw

On a very wet and muddy pitch, Hendon and Billericay Town fought out an entertaining goalless draw. The closest either side came to scoring was when Sam Collins hit the woodwork after a Hendon corner had been played short. It should be said that had it not been for the hard work of Nick McMullen, Gary McCann, Freddie Hyatt and Steve Rogers the game this afternoon would not have gone ahead and the club are very grateful to all four for their efforts earlier today.

Saturday 08 December - Today's game

At the time of writing (7.30am) there has been no news of any planned pitch inspection ahead of this afternoon's game against Billericay. However, with the forecast for heavy rain today, this may well change. Unfortunately due to other commitments we won't be able to update the website any further until this evening. As a result any news of pitch inspections or postponements will be put onto the livescores system. If there is no update, it is safe to assume that the game is going ahead as planned.
