Our planned home game against Hastings United on 12th February has been postponed again. This is due to the fact Hastings now have to play a rearranged county cup tie that week. A new date for the game will be announced in due course.

Goals from three teenage debutants ensured progression to the quarter finals of the London Senior Cup this evening as the Greens won 3-1 at Croydon.
Junior Morias was the first to find the back of the net in the 28th minute when he converted a spot kick, and that was it for goal action until the dying minutes of the game. In the 87th minute Croydon equalised, but that just sparked the Greens into life. A minute later Rouchy Efambe restored the lead, and in the second minute of stoppage time Lee Angol completed the scoring.
Sam Flegg was the fourth debutant to take part in the game, which also saw the return to action for Sean Thomas, making his first appearance since suffering an injury in the first half of the FA Cup tie against Potters Bar Town.
Our reward for reaching the quarter finals is a short trip to Wingate & Finchley. The date for the game will be announced in due course.

We have heard from Croydon this morning, and we are pleased to say that this evening's game is on.
The Arena pitch is playable but heavy, and given the favourable weather forecast, no inspection is planned.
Unfortunately we will not be running the live updates service this evening, but the website will be updated either late tonight or tomorrow morning with all the details from the game.
Kick off at the Arena will be at 7.45pm.

We are pleased to announce that we have signed two players on loan from Wycombe Wanderers, but one player is expected to leave in the next few days.
Joining the club from the Chairboys are 18 year old Lee Angol and 17 year old Junior Morias. Angol is a midfielder who began his career at Tottenham Hotspur, and he has made 3 appearances from the bench for Wycombe this season. Meanwhile, Morias is a winger who began his career at Fulham, and he has made 12 substitute appearances this season. We welcome them both to the club and hope that they enjoy their time with us.
Meanwhile, Ryan Wharton is expected to leave the club in the next few days and sign for Southern League side St Albans City. Ryan has made 79 appearances in his two spells with the club, scoring just a solitary goal. We thank him for his efforts and wish him well for the future.

We have been in contact with Croydon today, who have said that they are optimistic regarding the chances of our London Senior Cup tie going ahead on Wednesday.
Their pitch has recovered well from the frost, ice and snow from the past couple of weeks, and is currently playable. Whilst there is rain forecast at times over the next couple of days, the Arena pitch does generally drain well, so all being well the game will go ahead this week.
Kick off at the Arena is at 7.45pm.

We are pleased to announce that 18 year old Rouchy Efambe has joined us on work experience terms from Dagenham & Redbridge. Rouchy is a wide playing forward, and joins his club-mate Jack Connors with us at Hendon.

Tomorrow's game against Thurrock has been postponed as the Vale Farm pitch remains snowbound. That, together with the forecast for more rain, sleet or snow overnight has meant that there is no chance of the game going ahead.
A new date for the game will be advised in due course.

Our game at Leiston will now take place on Tuesday 19th March, kicking off at 7:45pm.
Posted at 12:37
As expected, our game at Leiston tomorrow has been postponed due to the snow that has fallen over the past few hours. A new date for the game will be announced in due course.
Posted at 15:22
It probably comes as no surprise that tomorrow's game at Leiston is already extremely doubtful. Their ground has been snowbound for most of the week, and with the weather forecast for the next 24 hours being very poor, the chances of the game going ahead are extremely slim.
Leiston have promised us an update later today, and we will update in all the usual places as soon as we have further news.

The under 15s have been awarded the points for last Sunday's postponed game at Redbridge. The game was called off by the match referee as neither the pitch nor our opponents were ready in time. Our youngsters are due to be in action, weather permitting, in the Middlesex County Cup Quarter Finals on Sunday morning against LPOSSA 'B'. The game will be played at Northwick Park Playing Fields and kicks off at 10.30am.

With the weather conditions not improving, and temperatures unlikely to go much above freezing, tonight's game at Croydon has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
The game has provisionally been rescheduled for Wednesday 30th January at the Croydon Sports Arena, kicking off at 7.45pm.
We would like to thank Croydon for keeping us updated over the past 24 hours regarding pitch conditions.
Posted at 12:13
Since the earlier update, we have heard from Croydon this morning, and their groundsman has reported that they have had a heavy frost and the pitch is very solid.
The game is now in some doubt, and a decision will be made around lunchtime. Please check back this afternoon for an update as to whether any attempt to play the game will be made today.
Posted at 10:52
Croydon are confident that this evening's London Senior Cup tie will go ahead as planned. They were in contact with us yesterday afternoon to say that unless the weather deteriorated dramatically, there were no plans for an inspection.
Please assume that the game is going ahead as planned unless we have updated the website to say anything to the contrary.
There will be no live updates from tonight's game, but the website will be updated as normal late this evening.

We now have a complete playing record of the club that dates back to August 1955, with the final missing line-up from the 1976-77 season having been found.
We are grateful to Joe English, who found the line-up in his programme collection and passed it to us earlier this evening, which means we are now just six games away from a complete post-war record.

We are currently taking coach bookings for the trip to Leiston on Saturday, with seats priced at £12. If you would like to travel please call Steve Rogers on 07748 526594 to make your booking.

Hendon Under-15s were due to return to action on Sunday with a League fixture away to Redbridge at Hainault. Unfortunately, when they arrived they found that the ground was unusable and the match had to be postponed. Next Sunday, they play their Middlesex County Youth FA Cup quarter-final away to LPOSSA 'B'.

The first team put in a superb hard-working performance this afternoon and got their rewards with a 1-0 win over play-off hopefuls Kingstonian.
The only goal of the game came in the 42nd minute when Jack Connors opened his account for the club with a fine strike across the visiting keeper, and the ball nestled in the far corner of the net.
Kingstonian were reduced to ten men midway through the second half when Wade Small was sent off, and the Greens were able to hold on for the win reasonably comfortably.

Have you checked out our Facebook page, which now has a new feature where you can vote for an unofficial Man of the Match after each game?
Our facebook page, which is maintained by Tom Pevehouse, keeps you updated on all upcoming fixtures, match reports along with the Man of the Match votes, and a few features that don't appear on the website.
We are currently taking supporters votes for the game against Canvey Island so log on to Facebook and get involved. Our facebook page can be found by either clicking the link on the front page of the website, or by going to http://www.facebook.com/HendonFC

The first team will be aiming to bounce back from Tuesday's defeat tomorrow as they entertain Kingstonian at Vale Farm in a 3:00pm kick off. They will also be looking to gain revenge for their defeat in the reverse fixture at Kingsmeadow a few weeks ago when the home side won 2-1.
Kingstonian currently lie in 5th place with 33 points from 19 games in what is becoming a very tight bunch in the upper reaches of the table where just 4 points separate 2nd and 8th positions. They come into the game on the back of a 2-0 home win over fellow play-off hopefuls Wealdstone courtesy of second half goals from Matt Pattison and Andre McCollin.
The Greens will be keen to return to winning ways to ensure that they don't get dragged back down towards the bottom two in the table, ensuring that they build on their recent improved run of results that has seen three wins in the last four games.
Whilst the forecast is for it to be cold, it is not currently expected to freeze overnight, so we are hopeful of the game going ahead. Should there be a change to the situation tomorrow morning, please check the messageboard and twitter feed as it is unlikely that we will be able to update the website until after the game. The livescores service will run as normal during the game.

The post-war section of the archive has moved closer to completion this week as more data came to light.
We are very grateful to former HFCSA Committee Member John Richardson, who has found the line-ups from four of the missing games in the 1976-77 season. This means that the only game left without a line-up that season, and indeed between May 1955 and the present day, is the league cup tie at Sutton United on 31st March 1977.

Canvey Island ended Hendon's winning run this evening as they won 2-1 at Vale Farm.
The Essex side took the lead in the 14th minute through Jay Curran, before Dean Cracknell equalised in the 30th minute with his 5th goal of the campaign. The winner came in the 53rd minute courtesy of former Hendon loanee Bradley Woods-Garness to secure the points for Canvey.

We are pleased to announce that striker Sean Sonner has joined the club from Slough Town, and is likely to be in the squad to face Canvey Island this evening.
Sean is a former England Under 18 international who began his career with Harefield United and Sun Postal Sports before having a prolific period with Northwood. He then moved on to Boreham Wood, before joining Slough, initally on loan, in 2009, and he has scored 45 goals for the Rebels.
We warmly welcome Sean to the club, and look forward to seeing him in action in the weeks and months to come.

Jack Mazzone has returned to Woking after his loan period came to an end. Jack, who originally came to us for the last part of last season, scored a total of 9 goals in his 30 appearances for the club.
We thank Jack for all his efforts over the past few months, and wish him every success as he looks to continue his career.

The first team have a quick return to action as they entertain Canvey Island at Vale Farm this evening, kicking off at 7:45pm.
Canvey, who currently lie in 10th place with 29 points from 19 games, were left stunned on Saturday afternoon at Whitehawk. They were leading 4-1 with 15 minutes to go, but contrived to lose 5-4 as the Hawks refused to lie down. Meanwhile, the Greens will be looking to continue their recent improved run of results and pull further away from the relegation zone.
Don't forget that the New Year raffle will be drawn after the game. Please ensure that you hand your tickets and money to Eddie Edwards before half-time this evening.
Unfortunately there will be no live updates on the messageboard or twitter from the game today, but the website will be updated as normal late this evening.

It was yet another late winner that secured the victory for Hendon this afternoon as they won 1-0 at Cray Wanderers.
It was Belal Aite-Ouakrim who netted the goal as the game moved into stoppage time, meaning that the Greens are now on a run of three wins, all of which have been secured in the dying moments of the game.
The result moves the club up to 16th place in the table, five points clear of the relegation zone.

We are pleased to say that we have now filled the vast majority of post 2nd world war gaps in the website archive of player appearances and goalscorers.
Many of our more mature supporters will remember the late Ken Thorn, who was a member of the Supporters Association Committee for many years, and he kept meticulous records from 1977 through to 1991, which included a large part of the data that we were missing. His notebook has been kept safe by Des McManus, another former HFCSA committee member, for many years, and Des kindly passed the book over to us a couple of months ago for which we send our grateful thanks.
We are just missing line-up data for 11 post-war games, and those games are listed at the bottom of this item. Futhermore - between January 1930 and May 1945 we are only missing data on a further 43 games. The gaps prior to 1930 are much more extensive.
The missing post war games are as follows - they are all league games unless stated.
25th December 1945 A v Wealdstone
26th December 1945 H v Wealdstone
15th April 1948 A v Bromley
3rd May 1951 H v Bromley
4th May 1951 A v Tooting & Mitcham United
3rd May 1955 H v Southall
31st March 1977 A v Sutton United (League Cup)
2nd April 1977 H v Ilford
23rd April 1977 H v Dulwich Hamlet
26th April 1977 A v Staines Town
30th April 1977 H v Slough Town
If you have any information on the above games that you think may be of use, please speak to any member of the Rogers family on a matchday, or email the website on firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be delighted to hear from you. Equally, if you would like a list of all the matches on which we are missing data - please let us know and we can send you a copy.

Don't forget that our trip to Cray Wanderers takes place on Sunday afternoon, kick off at 3:00pm. This is due to the fact that their landlords Bromley have a home game on Saturday.
With the weather forecast set fair for the next few days, there should be no problems with the game going ahead. If the situation does change, we will update the messageboard and twitter feed, but we will not be able to update the website on Sunday morning.

If you have tickets sold but are not attending the game please make contact with Eddie Edwards by e mail on email@example.com or phone on 07963771811 for details of how to return your counterfoils.
